'#TejasExpress #Railway #LuxuryTrain Indian Railways\' first private train Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express will start from October 5. It will be the first train of Indian Railways that will be entirely run by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). The Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express will run six days a week, except Tuesdays. The much-awaited New Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express will be flagged off by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on October 4. The regular service of New Delhi-Tejas Express will commence from October 5. IRCTC Tejas Express will start running in Lucknow and New Delhi route from October 6. The Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express will cover distance between Delhi and Lucknow in six hours and fifteen minutes. IRCTC has started taking bookings for Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express from last Saturday. More than 2,000 passengers have booked their tickets so far, PTI reported. Here is all you need to know about ticket booking rules and cancellation charges: Starting from October 5, the new Tejas Express will run in New Delhi-Lucknow route for six days a week. The fare for Lucknow to New Delhi Tejas Express will be ₹1,125 for AC chair car and ₹2,310 for executive chair car, according to a PTI report. The New Delhi to Lucknow Tejas Express ticket will be priced at ₹1,280 for AC chair car passengers and ₹2,450 for executive chair car. The train will operate on dynamic fare scheme. The Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express tickets are available via IRCTC website irctc.co.in or its mobile app. Travellers can also book tickets through online travel portal such as like Paytm, Ixigo, PhonePe, Make My Trip, Google, Ibibo, Railyatri etc. The Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express trains will have advance reservation period of 60 days. No concessions, privileges or duty passes will be allowed on these trains. Children of age 5 years and above will be charged the full fare. The Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express will begin its journey from Lucknow at 6.10 am, and reach Delhi at 12.25 pm. On its return journey, the train will leave New Delhi at 4.30 pm and will reach Lucknow at 10.45 pm. Ticket cancellation and refund 1) If a passenger cancels ticket up to 4 hours before the scheduled departure of the train, ₹25 will be deducted as a clerkage charge. The rest of the balance will be refunded online. Indian Railways deducts ₹65 per passenger as clerkage from AC class passengers in such cases. 2) If your wait-listed ticket is cancelled by IRCTC due to lack of available seats in the train, full amount will be refunded. No extra charge will be deducted. 3) If a partially confirmed ticket is cancelled after chart preparation and up to 30 minutes before scheduled departure of the train, full ticket amount will be refunded, IRCTC said in a press release. Food on wheels: IRCTC is all set to change the way you travel in Indian Railways. There will be refreshments for passengers of both the category. Passengers can have tea/coffee along with cookies right after they board the train. Premium cookies will be available for executive class travellers. Nimboo pani and flavoured lassi will also be on offer. For breakfast, passengers will have options of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. In the vegetarian combo, one can choose vegetable cutlets with poha or uttapam and coconut chutney. Medu Vada and suji uttapam will also available. In the non-vegetarian platter, there will be options of masala omellete and sauted vegetables. Executive class passengers can also have cornflakes for breakfast. Other than the usual combo, one can also order mishti dahi, brown bread and butter, fruit juice from several well-known brands during the journey.
