'While many parents might feel they don\'t have time or energy to hit the gym, Stacie Clark has built her life around fitness. \"I\'ve been an athlete all of my life,\" said the Plymouth mother of two. \"I have over 20 years experience as a trainer and teaching classes and clients.\" The former fashion director left her corporate job a few years ago to pursue her passion for fitness full time. \"My husband (Chris) and I decided let\'s do this together,\" said Clark. \"He\'s always done this all of his life and I was like, okay, I\'m game\" They were mobile for about seven years, holding classes and training sessions at different locations throughout the Twin Cities. Almost exactly a year ago, they opened a permanent studio in Plymouth called Tiger Fit with a simple philosophy. \"Train your body the way it was meant to move. What that means is we use functional bodyweight training,\" said Clark. \"It helps you feel better, perform better and look better overall.\" Faithful followers like Pattie Turkbas flock to Tiger Fit, not just for the workout style, but also for Clark\'s enthusiasm and support. \"[Stacie] comes to the party every time with her energy, her excitement,\" said Turkbas. \"Amazing amount of passion. I don\'t know how I could do as many classes as she does in a day, and each and every time she brings it.\" After transforming lives in the Twin Cities, Clark is ready to inspire people nationwide. Last winter, the 40-year-old entered a contest to be Women\'s Health magazine\'s \"Next Fitness Star.\" Out of thousands of applicants, she was chosen as one of the top five finalists in the country. Clark is also the only mom in the bunch, something she feels gives her an advantage over the others. \"I\'m in it to win it. I want to bring it home,\" said Clark. \"I want to set a great example for other moms and young females and inspire families to move.\" The winner will create a collection of DVDs for Women\'s Health and become a fitness expert for the magazine. Tiger Fit clients say, if anyone can do it, Clark can. \"I just wish her all success,\" said Turkbas, \"because she\'s worked really hard to get where she is and to do what she does.\" Voting begins June 19 at www.womenshealthmag.com. The winner will be announced in August.
