'COMMON DEADLIFT MISTAKES ❌  ⚠️ HYPEREXTENDING THE LOCKOUT  You do not need to excessively thrust forward & lean back to lockout your deadlift.  Butt squeeze here isn’t building your glutes girls! Your glutes are actually under zero tension at the top - if anything you are just engaging your lower back which is not want you want here!  ✅ Just stand up straight. Neutral spine and hips in extension. Slight glute squeeze is fine - just don’t overdo it.  ⚠️ BAR STARTING TO FAR AWAY. When you are starting with your feet too far away from the bar this actually makes deadlifting harder due to the bar path (increases horizontal moment arm). This can also put pressure on your spine.
